Healthy Relationships and Human Sexuality for Teens and Young Adults Ages 18+
Sexual feelings and needs are a healthy and normal part of life. The primary focus of this course will be self-advocacy in human relationships and sexuality. Sexual self-advocacy empowers people to have healthy romantic relationships, to make informed choices, to be safe, and to express their desires and needs. Topics covered will include Dating 101 and Romantic Relationships, How Our Bodies Work and Caring for Your Body, Healthy Body Image, Reproductive Safety, and Consent.

This course equips teens and young adults with the tools and skills they need to make healthy choices and navigate life’s challenges. Through gentle movement exercises, open discussions, engaging activities, and guided relaxation and mindfulness techniques, participants will gain self-awareness, the ability to self-regulate, build positive relationships, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and discover their strengths and talents. This empowering program is a journey of self-discovery for teens and young adults who want to take charge of their lives and live them to the fullest.

Nature Photography and Guided Hiking Classes

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
This class will offer guided hiking in parks and nature preserves throughout Long Island. Students will receive instruction in basic photography skills utilizing interchangeable cell phone camera lenses. Participants will learn basic hiking skills and techniques including navigating a trail map, rhythm and flow, keeping a pace, stretching, and tips for nutrition and hydration. Mindfulness practices will be incorporated throughout the class to teach participants how to be present in the moment and have a deeper sense of connection with their natural surroundings.

Mindfulness Movement Based Learning
What is Mindfulness Movement Based Learning?
A fun and effective way to learn that combines physical movement with mindfulness practices.
It is based on the belief that the mind and body are interconnected and that by developing awareness and control of one's body, students can also improve their focus, concentration, and learning ability. These exercises can be adapted to suit students of all ages and abilities and are a great way to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and to help students learn and thrive.
Students will learn to wake up their bodies and minds to focus on the present moment.
